Heavy rains are still raging Northern Tanzania and most of East Africa including national parks in Kenya and Tanzania including Lake Manyara National Park which has been closed temporarily due to the sweeping away of the drift used to cross Marera River by the heavy rains. Some of the national parks and reserves ordinarily continue receiving visitors throughout the long rains season between April and May and we usually continue offering safari goers great Tanzania Safari tours though out of the this period. A few places like Selous Game Reserve are not encouraged and so is Tarangire National Park despite the accessibility in the latter. The Selous Game Reserve in the Southern Tanzania Safari Circuit usually sees a big range of its lodges / tented camps close during this period for the rainy season because the roads are mostly impassable (due to its swampy nature) but also the accommodation properties use this period to make some needed repairs and refurbishments after along safari season that runs between June and March. This time however the little gem which is Lake Manyara National Park has been hit hard by the rains and flood waters flowing down the Marera River resulting to the sweeping away of the only drift that links the parks gate and therefore Tanzania National Parks Authority management decided to close the park temporarily. The Authorities however have told Tanzania Safari Supremacy that TANAPA Engineers are working day and night to
