Maasai Mara National Reserve (masai mara national reserve ) is one of the most popular wildlife areas in Kenya and Africa at lodge. Masai Mara is located in South-western Kenya at the floor of the Great Rift Valley area in Narok County, Kenya and bordering to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania  in the  Mara Region/ Masai mara region.

This game reserve was named in honor of the Masai people the ancestral inhabitants

And the reserves was established in 1961 as a wildlife sanctuary covering a small area of only 520 square kilometers of the current Mara Triangle.

The Masai Mara is more famous for the wildebeests migration that happens every year when more than a million and a half wildebeest herds accompanied by thousands of zebras and gazelles cross the crocodile infested Mara river in a bid to cross from Serengeti to Masai Mara in search of greener pastures and drinking water. The Masai Mara is also famous for its large prides of lions, and other cats, and the game reserve is where the BBC’s Big Cat Diaries was filmed.

Serengeti National Park

Bordering the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the Serengeti National Park is the best national park in Africa and indeed in the world. The park has been voted as the number one wildlife park in the world by travellers and travel experts year in year out and it is the epicenter of the wildebeest migration because the cycle starts and ends here at this park. The herds also spend most of the year in this park. Apart from the wildebeests migration, the Serengeti National Park is home to many other animals and great place to spot the big cats.
