Mikumi Park Bandas

Mikumi Park Bandas are nice mid range rest houses located inside the Mikumi National Park. Th Rest Houses are manned and operated by the Tanzania National Park Authority TANAPA and can accommodate guests of all ages. Ideally located inside the National Park, Mikumi Park Bandas re the best place you can stay in if you are travelling with family or couples and small groups, given that game drives starts right away as soon as you leave the compound.

The Mikumi Park Cottages also called Bandas are clean and well maintained guest houses but most of all a safe place to stay in, because they are manned the Tanzania National Parks Authority who have their own game warders also known as Game Rangers.

Mikumi Park Bandas are also known as the Chamgore Wildlife Safari Cottages and are famous for the Elephant Cottages which has hosted the 4th President of Tanzania, His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete allegedly on several occasions. 3 Day Safari in Mikumi National Park, Staying at Mikumi Bandas

This 3 day Mikumi safari is the best budget safari you can take from Dar es Salaam while staying at the Mikumi Bandas, which are located inside the park, giving you the advantage of starting early and finishing early unlike staying at the midrange lodges which are located outside. The price for this package is very affordable.

Mikumi Bandas are very family friendly so this safari is both for couple and small groups but ideal for the families travelling with young kids.

Day to Day Outlined Itinerary

Day 1:          Transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park.
Pick up from Dar es Salaam International Airport if arriving early in the morning or from your hotel around the CBD. You will be transferred by your private safari guide to Mikumi arriving around noon. You will start your first safari in Mikumi immediately and will check in at the Mikumi Park Bandas later in the afternoon for dinner and overnight. Your lunch and dinner is included.

Day 2:          Full day Safari at Mikumi National Park

Early morning safari game drive from 6.00 AM if you like, then head back to Mikumi Park Bandas for breakfast. You will then head out for a full day of safari game drives, or choose to do morning and afternoon safari game drives with a break for lunch and relaxation at the Mikumi Park Bandas. Mikumi National Park is usually compared with the Serengeti with vast open grasslands where wildlife thrives. You expect to spot many animals including elephants, lions, occasional leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, many impalas and gazelles, a many other animals. Mikumi is also well known for its beautiful birds.
Late in the afternoon you will retire back to Mikumi Park Bandas for dinner and overnight. All meals are included.

Day 3:      Mikumi National Park – Drive back to Dar es Salaam

Another early morning safari game drive starting 6.00 AM if you like, then head back to Mikumi Park Bandas for breakfast. You will then check out around 10.00 hrs and drive out of the park and head back to Dar es Salaam where your safari ends. Breakfast and packed lunch included.
