Tarangire House of Nature is a well-positioned midrange tented camp offering excellent value for money in the Tarangire area. Perched on a scenic hill near Sangaiwe Hill, just outside Tarangire National Park, the camp delivers stunning panoramic views and convenient access to one of Tanzania’s most rewarding safari destinations.

Situated along the important wildlife corridor connecting Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara (near Lake Burunge), the camp benefits from year-round wildlife activity. Guests often see elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birds directly from the camp.

Why Tarangire?

Tarangire National Park is renowned for its ancient baobab trees, large elephant herds, and diverse landscapes. The Tarangire River is a magnet for wildlife, especially during the dry season. Staying here gives you easy access to the park’s best game-viewing areas while enjoying a peaceful, intimate atmosphere.

Best Time to Visit Tarangire House of Nature Camp

  • Dry Season (June – October): This is the best time to stay in Tarangire House of Nature Camp, for the best  wildlife viewing. Animals gather around water sources, making sightings of elephants, lions, and other species more frequent and reliable.
  • Green Season (November – May): Lush scenery, fewer crowds, and excellent birdwatching. Ideal for photography and relaxed safaris.

Location & How to Get There The camp is located about 2 to 2.5 hours by road from Arusha. Located just outside the park close to Sangaiwe Gate,  this camp offers extra activities like Nature walks with the Maasai Warriors, and visiting authentic Maasai villages for real cultural encounters.

Accessibility By Road: Convenient private transfers from Arusha, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), or other lodges. Transfers from Arusha by road takes 2 hours, and from Kilimanjaro International Airport 2.5 – 3 hours, steady drive.

By Air: You can fly into Kuro Airstrip inside Tarangire National Park, followed by a short transfer to camp — a comfortable and time-saving option. The transfer from the airstrip to the camp will involve game drives with animal viewing on the way, but this also requires paying park entry fees for Tarangire National Park.
