The first and most prominent hot air balloon safari company in Tanzania; the Serengeti Balloon Safaris has recently announced their intention to start operating hot air balloon safaris in the largest national park in Tanzania; The Ruaha National Park. A first of its kind in the southern and central safari circuit in Tanzania the operation (the flights) is set to begin mid this year and to be precise they have announced 15th June 2018 as the first day of operations.

Ruaha National Park is currently Tanzania’s largest National Park after nearby concession and wildlife areas were brought in and gazetted to join the original park. Ruaha National Park covers some 20,000 sq km and lies in the southern part of this beautiful, (towards central Serengeti) and it is a premium safari destination in the country due to its vastness but also remoteness.
Ruaha is a far cry from the busy tourist circuits of northern Tanzania, it boasts a baobab-studded landscape and excellent game viewing by vehicle or on foot (guided by armed rangers) and soon the park can now be explored from aloft; by hot-air balloon.
Recently test-flights were conducted in Ruaha and they were an unmitigated success; according to Serengeti Balloon Safaris the longest operating hot air balloon Safari Company in Tanzania.
